Because time won't stand still
A family shoot gives you the chance to capture a snapshot of your life as a family to keep forever. Whether you want some beautiful photographs of your newborn baby, lasting memories of your toddlers or a photo session for the whole family then do get in touch.
My style is relaxed and informal - no strict posing in front of a white backdrop with harsh lighting and a regimented schedule. I want the photos to reflect your child's personality and be a true portrayal of who they are. We'll go to a location that you know well, either indoors or at home and then spend a fun hour or two playing and getting some wonderful pictures that you can all look back on for years to come.
Shoots last between 1 and 2 hours. A couple of weeks after the shoot your online gallery will be ready for you to view. From here you will be able to choose the images you would like as your free prints and can then order additional prints, frames and canvasses. The photos I will take of your family are made to be seen. They are taken in beautiful locations, we will have discussed clothing and style before hand. We will go where the light is soft, the backdrop gorgeous and from here create images that are pieces of art to be hung on the wall or displayed in an album, not hidden away on a USB in a dusty drawer.

FAMILY SHOOTS
The most important thing I aim to capture in your images are the essence of who you are as a family.
I want to capture the spirit of your children, the love of the parents, the dynamic between siblings, the fun of the family dog. So I like to get to know you. We'll spend a bit of time chatting on the phone or over skype so I can find out more about what makes you tick as a family and this will impact what we do on the shoot. If you are lovers of the outdoors we'll go and frolick in fields, paddle in streams and climb trees. If you are city folk then we'll go to your favourite brunch spot and explore the cobbled back streets of your town.
Many people comment on the quality of the light in my images. For me, lights is one of the most important elements in creating a really beautiful image. For this reason I love to photograph in what we call golden hour - the hour or 2 just after sunrise and just before sunset. Where possible I will schedule in our shoot for one of these times.
Family shoots are all about honesty. Capturing who you truly are, in the most beautiful images possible.

BABY SHOOTS
There is something particularly special about babies.
They change unrecognisably in such a short space of time. I don't do overly posed images, I like to use natural object in the comfort of your own home.
I will spend a couple of hours with you at home and will do a mixture of images. Photos of you as parents with your baby. Pictures of baby on their own sleeping, the beautiful nursery you spent weeks decorating and capturing the dynamics of your new little family. I like to give plenty of time for these shoots so that they don't become in any way stressful - I know how difficult the first few weeks after a a baby is born can be and newborn lifestyle shoots should be a time to be savoured and enjoyed not a stressful rush. I allow plenty of time for feeds, nappy changes and the occassional tantrum!
